Grant Mills Wood were instructed jointly with King Sturge (now JLL) to market a portfolio of vacant properties on behalf of a major utility company.
The agents were asked to give informal views on the value of 21 sites and buildings and to suggest marketing proposals for individual disposals. Fourteen of the sites were sold either by private treaty or auction raising in excess of £36 million in capital receipts.
In a number of cases an overage provision was built in providing the client protection against increased value through change of use.
This instruction utilised the ability of Grant Mills Wood to call on expertise within the group including agency, development, valuation and construction related disciplines.
