Tony qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1984 and was one of the original Grant & Partners team who undertook a management buyout in 1995 leading to the current set up at Grant Mills Wood.
Tony has experience of most parts of the profession having started off at St Katharine's Dock managing the estate which involved both professional and agency work. After a spell at niche agents Peter Symmons and Company, Tony joined Grant & Partners in 1987 and worked from the London Docklands office where he was involved in a number of substantial development projects in the early days of the regeneration of the Isle of Dogs in and around Canary Wharf. Experience in agency, investment, development and management has enabled Tony to provide comprehensive property advice to a number of longstanding clients.
Tony has been involved in acquiring and disposing of a multitude of sites for Sainsbury’s for over 20 years. This has led to other out of town retail development projects for private clients including, most recently, advising on a scheme in Edenbridge Kent which was pre let to Lidl/Home Bargains and Greggs. Tony was also instrumental in the development of a 1.3 ha site in Walthamstow for 337 residential units and is currently involved in advising a utilities supplier on the rationalisation of their estate in the south of the country.
GMW were delighted to have been involved in the acquisition of over 4,500 railway arches advising Telereal Trillium and Blackstone on their reported £1.46 billion purchase. Ongoing advice to the clients on rent reviews and lettings continues.
Tony was involved in the disposal of the Meridian Centre, Peacehaven (approximately 10 acres) on behalf of the Coop as well as advising on the disposal of 4 other sites in the South East.
Tony is married with three grown up children, one of whom has followed him into the profession. A keen golfer and rugby spectator Tony is always available for invitations to such events!
